SR4P AKC Scent Work Comp Teams

Jessie & Rusty

SCN, SIN, SEN

Rusty and Jessie began their scent work journey in February 2025. What started as a fun, winter-friendly indoor activity with no specific goals or scent profiles in mind, quickly turned into a passion. As with most things, Rusty embraced the challenge with enthusiasm. Under the expert guidance of instructors Char Young and Cassie Frary, the team hit the ground running and entered their first AKC Scent Trial that spring. To date, the duo has maintained a 100% success rate in locating their target scent during trials. In their first season, they earned titles in Novice Interior, Novice Exterior, and Novice Container. Rusty and Jessie are now excited to take on the challenge of progressing to the Advanced level and developing new skills such as Buried Scent and Handler Discrimination.

Tina & Belle’s Mademoi‑Zelda Blue “Zelda”

SCN, SEN

When our Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy Quincy joined the family, we started Scent Work to give our French Bulldog Zelda some one‑on‑one time with Tina. What we discovered? Zelda doesn’t just enjoy it—she LOVES it! And with the expert guidance of Cassie Frary and Char Young, Zelda has turned out to be an excellent Scent Worker.

It’s rare to see a Frenchie in Scent Work, and Zelda showed up big at her first AKC Scent Work trial in June 2025. She qualified with flying colors in the three primary categories—Container, Interior, and Exterior. Next up: the Advanced level…and possibly Buried Scent!

Watching her light up on the start line, enthusiastically work the odor, and celebrate her finds has been pure joy. Here’s to happy noses and the magic of following your dog’s passion. Go, Team Zelda!
