Course Descriptions

AKC STAR Puppy

This is a 6 week course that is open to pups 10 weeks - 11 months of age. This course focuses on proper socialization, a basic obedience foundation and how to have good communication with your puppy. Certificate test is included.

Scent Work

We offer Intro through Advanced courses for Sport Scent work. We offer a variety of odors to work with including but not limited to Sport Odors, Antler Sheds, Tobacco and Pseudo Narcotics.

  • Intro to Scent Work - This is a basic introduction to odor. Class focus is on odor imprinting, understanding basic odor concepts.

  • Scent II - We begin to expand your knowledge as a team. We begin the "search" and the process of getting your trained final response or "alert".

  • Scent III - This is a more advanced class focusing on the search, TFR and perfecting both.

Therapy Dog Certification Course

This is an intensive program, designed to prepare your dog for situations and environments in which they may go for therapy work. Everything from schools, hospitals, long term care facilities, courtrooms etc. This program is for select dogs that are prepared for the advanced work. Dogs will be assessed prior to acceptance into this program.

AKC Canine Good Citizen

CGC is a 6 week course where you will learn 10-12 basic skills that will help you and your pup be successful in community settings. We also maintain a focus on proper socialization and handling. Certificate test is included.

Rally

Rally is a super fun way to hone your obedience skills while establishing a closer relationship and bond with your pup! Rally is all about teamwork. You move through a course with signs where the pup performs different exercises. The courses are designed by the Rally judge/trainer (10-20 signs per course, depending on the class level) that include various turns and commands such as sit, down, stay, etc.

We offer an Intro, Intermediate and Advanced course options. In each step your coursework gets more challenging.

AKC Trick Dog Course

There are 5 Trick Dog titles available to earn.

  • Novice

  • Intermediate

  • Advanced

  • Trick Dog Performer

  • Trick Dog Elite Performer​

Each course is available to all levels and we can focus on the tricks you are working towards for your relevant title. If you have more questions about this, feel free to reach out.​

Agility

Agility is a fun, quick paced sport, where you and your dog work as a team to navigate a course of obstacles! Although this is a physical sport, all are welcome and you can work at your own pace! We offer Intro through Competition options!

  • Intro to Agility - is our entry class. This focuses on introduction to the obstacles, and gaining confidence to begin your pups foundation into the sport.

  • Agility Fundamentals - is after our Intro class. This class focuses on expanding your knowledge as a handler, beginning  off-leash course work and perfecting techniques!

  • Intermediate Agility - In this course you will begin more advanced course work and begin learning to read course maps. Your dog must be able to work completely off leash for this class

  • Competition Team - This is an invitation only course. For those who have interest in competing and when ready must have plans to attend at least one competition per season.

AKC Community Canine

AKC Urban CGC

These courses are the ADVANCED classes for the AKC Certificates! Each course focuses on a 10 skill curriculum, however these classes take place in more populated and public settings. You are required to have your basic CGC Certificate to enroll in this course. *Classes held in Spring/Summer
